Consultancy project for the German Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer ProtectionConPolicy conceptualizes SDG 12-advisory group and synthesizes recommendations for action

Consumer behavior has far-reaching effects on the environment and the working conditions at home and abroad. To account for those effects, the international community has committed to promoting sustainable production and consumption patterns in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), goal number twelve in particular. The political challenge will now be to implement these goals in German policy, and most notably in consumer policy.

In order to implement the measures most effectively, the German Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection (BMJV) established a temporary advisory group that comprised experts from academia, the private sector, and civil society.

On behalf of the BMJV, ConPolicy developed a concept for this advisory group, conceptualized and moderated the two workshops, conducted an online survey on possible measures, and synthesized essential results of the advisory group in the form of political recommendations for action.
