The project 'Strengthening Youth Participation in BMEL's Policy Consulting' aimed to support the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) in raising its youth policy profile and strengthening consultative youth participation in policy consulting. To ensure that the approach of youth participation is effective and well manageable for the BMEL's organizational units, this project was based on a mix of methods and stakeholder involvement.
The project was implemented in two steps - development of a concept and a manual. ConPolicy was responsible for the second step of this project. Therefore, a needs workshop with the organizational units of the BMEL, a literature analysis on quality standards of youth participation formats as well as interviews with experts from ministries and youth organizations were conducted.
