The need for information on livestock farming is growing. Efficient and effective information about livestock farming at the point of sale can have a huge impact on consumer behavior. Important information includes price, origin and shelf life, but packaging and labels are also key sources of information. How well known are the labels already in use? And what about the information on animal husbandry? Does a label have a clear advantage in terms of trust? A research team from two academic chairs investigated these issues for the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) of Germany.
