In a newly published research article in the journal Frontiers in Sustainability, Viola Muster, Samira Iran and Marlene Münsch discuss the extent to which decluttering can contribute to sustainable consumption. After conceptually situating lifestyle minimalism and decluttering in the context of homemaking and self-care, potentials and limitations for promoting sustainable consumption are outlined. Initial empirical findings from the project are then presented.
