This second sub-report includes a closer look at the customer perspective as well as an in-depth examination and ecological assessment of the current situation regarding the most relevant elements of the online retail consumption cycle: Logistics, shipping packaging and returns. The environmental impacts of various exemplary online purchases are illustrated on the basis of user stories. From this, courses of action for greening are then identified, described and ecologically evaluated. Based on the identified options for action and their evaluation, scenarios for possible future designs of online retailing will be drafted.
