The European Parliament is one of the two EU's legislative bodies. Besides its political composition the parliament consists of numerous committees, each handling a particular policy area. Committees prepare the legislation before it is debated and eventually passed in the plenary. One of these committees is the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO). To support its work, the IMCO has issued a framework contract for the provision of external expertise on regulatory and policy issues.
ConPolicy has been commissioned to lead a consortium on this framework to provide the IMCO with expertise on consumer protection including the economic and legal aspects of consumer policy. Together with its partners and sub-contractors VVA Brussels, the European University Institute, Wageningen University and the European Consumer Organisation BEUC, ConPolicy will provide the IMCO with studies, in-depth analyses, briefings, organisation of workshops and support of European Parliament events with experts in the area of consumer protection.
The framework contract runs for four years.
